This is not a knitting blog

Yes, this is not so cool a blog as to be a knitting blog, but I have blogged on knitting before, so I thought I'd give an update on my progress, interminably slow knitter that I am. The picture up there is the Hogwarts-style scarf that I started some time ago. I made tons of progress on it last weekend, and now it even looks like a scarf. Just a short one.

The lacy shawl that I blogged about before, and which I tried to save after The Tragedy, has been frogged and is now a ball of yarn.

Thinking that I needed something I could finish quicker, I didn't immediately cast on another shawl, but instead, armed with my copy of Socks, Socks, Socks and some double pointed needles, decided to start a sock (hopefully I'll make two eventually). I had an initial problem casting it on, and I had to frog it about two rows in, but now I'm making pretty good progress. It's taking me a while to get used to using all those needles, but it's getting easier now that I'm 16 rounds into the sock. Here's a picture of it as of yesterday; I've made even more progress today:

The yarn I am using is Lion Brand Magic Stripes, the magic stripe-making properties of which are a source of great fascination to my spouse.
