Perpetual Borders coupon

So, is everyone well into the frantic phase of holiday shopping? Good, good. If any of that shopping is happening at online or actual bookstores, you should know about the perpetual Borders coupon at visitborders.com. It's a printable coupon, usually for 30% off one book or CD if you're spending more than $10 on your entire purchase. No email address or creepy survey is required. The coupon always has an expiration date within the next 10 days, so you can't just print out a stack of them to use at any time, but you can always go to the site and print out the current one.

This compares pretty well with Amazon, where discounts tend to run around 32% on books over $15, 20% on books between $10 and $15, and nil on books under $10. Amazon CD discounts vary widely, so it's hard to do a general comparison there. Of course, with Amazon there's usually no sales tax (outside of WA, KS, KY, and ND), and you can buy multiple discounted items at once, whereas the Borders coupon is only good on one item at a time. On the other hand, with Borders there's no shipping and no delayed gratification. Pick whatever works at the time.

Now go out there and buy me something!
